  Visa Application

  • Visitors entering the Republic of Korea (ROK) must hold a valid passport and visa to enter the country.

​

  • Nationals of visa waiver or visa-free countries may enter the country without a visa for tourism purposes only. For any other purposes, such as employment or education, proper visas are required.

​

  • Nationals of non-visa waiver countries must apply for visas at the nearest Korean embassy or consulate prior to entering the ROK.

​

  • Countries that are granted visa-free entry for general passport holders. Nationals of the following countries are allowed to enter and stay in ROK for up to 30 days of visa-free sojourn for tourism or visitation.

  Visa Free Entry for 45 Countries

  • Visa free 45 countries (as below) are designated based on international conventions, principle of reciprocity and national interests. In general, citizens of visa free countries are allowed to tour or visit Korea without a visa and to stay in the country for up to 30 days.

    • Asia (9 countries)

      • ​30 days: Bahrain, Brunei, Oman, Saudi Arabia

      • 90 days: Hong Kong, Japan, Kuwait, Macau, Taiwan

    • North America (2 countries)

      • ​90 days: US

      • 6 months: Canada

    • South America (5 countries)

      • ​30 days: Guyana, Honduras, Paraguay

      • 90 days: Argentina, Ecuador

    • Europe (11 countries)

      • 30 days: Albania, Andorra, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Cyprus, Monaco, Montenegro, San Marino, Vatican

      • 90 days: Croatia, Slovenia, Serbia

    • Oceania (13 countries)

      • 30 days: Guam, Fiji, Kiribati, Marshall Islands, Micronesia, Nauru, New Caledonia, Palau, Samoa, Solomon Islands, Tuvalu, Tonga

      • 90 days: Australia

    • Africa (5 countries)

      • 30 days: Botswana, Mauritius, Seychelles, South Africa, Swaziland​

  Visa Exempted for 107 Counturies 

  • Citizen of a country under Visa exemption agreement with the Republic of Korea who plans to engage in activities in accordance with the agreement.

  K-ETA

  • K-ETA eligible nationals, who wish to enter visa-free the Republic of Korea, must obtain K-ETA approval before boarding the flight or ship.
